Education

Educational History:

Ellender Memorial High School, Houma, LA – Class of 2001

Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, LA – Class of 2005

 

Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor of Music Education, with a concentration in instrumental music

Professional Development:

I am a member of Louisiana Music Educators Association, Louisiana Bandmasters Association, Phi Beta Mu, Kappa Kappa Psi, and I am currently serving as President for the District V Band and Orchestra Directors Association. 

Current Position:

I have been teaching at Pickering High School since 2006. I currently teach high school band, elementary band, and high school choir. 

Previous Position:

My first year of experience was at Greenwood Middle School in Gibson, LA and Mulberry Elementary School in Houma, LA.

Family Information:

I have been happily married to Devon Smith since 2007. We have one son, Brayden, who currently attends Pickering Elementary School. We have one dog, Sadie, and one cat, Socs.

Personal Information:

When I am not teaching I love to spend time with my family watching movies, playing board games, or just hanging out.
